Do you often work with other doctors?
"I have a good working relationship with other doctors. Ovbiously, primary care physicians and internists – they're the first line of defense for most of these problems. We educate them and often times reassure them that what they've done for the patient is what's right and appropriate. Anesthesiologists are key in pain control issues – both before and after surgical intervention. Certainly, with minimally invasive techniques, I wouldn't be able to do them without the expertise of the general surgeons – that's a very crucial relationship when dealing with that kind of surgery. Complicated cases often require the assistance of a neurosurgeon, and radiologists play a key role in diagnostic procedures."
